Within your child's phonics folder will be a range of essential resources to maximise the teaching and learning of phonics for your child. The paper based resources are regularly added to your child's phonics folder. This allows you to engage and support with some of the phonics work which takes place in school. Please ensure that your child's phonics folder is returned to school daily The resources within this folder will be required in school each day as part of your child's phonics lesson. Your child's phonics folder shall include a decodable book at their current phonics level, as well as a reading book for pleasure. Please feel free to also use the online Oxford Owl resource. Your child has been given an individual username and password for this. If you have any issues accessing Oxford Owl or you require username and password details again please do ask!
In addition to the resources within your child's phonics folder please find a range of resources attached below.
Within these resources include the Floppy's Phonics alphabetic chart. The alphabetic chart allows children to see all the different codes for each of the sounds taught in the Floppy's Phonics programme. In addition the helpful words are available to view. The helpful words range from level 1+ to 5. These words are common words your child will encounter within their reading books as well as the cumulative texts found on the Floppy's Phonics worksheets. It is beneficial for children to learn these words so they can read them at pace.
